In the post on Maintaining Historic Buildings the ‘arm-less’ cross from the west gable of All Saints appeared but it’s not there any more….
when the stonemason went up to try and effect repairs the remainder of the cross was so eroded and cracked it had to be taken down in several pieces!

We were very lucky that it had remained attached to the gable end and not fallen in the high winds and either smashed the newly restored west window or injured someone.
We now have to plan how to replace it.
